We are looking for a motivated Senior Resident Engineer who will supervise municipal project construction to join our team in our Aurora, Illinois, office. We are interested in talented, trustworthy and skilled people who are passionate about providing personalized attention to our clients.
What you'll doYou will manage and oversee the firm's resident engineers and serve as our clients' prime point of contact to help the firm advance construction projects. You will plan, budget, organize and coordinate activities to ensure effective project management. You'll oversee construction to ensure design documentation is accurately implemented and contract requirements are followed. That means you must have substantial knowledge and expertise with engineering designs, drawing creation, sample collection and construction observation because you will be expected to interpret the most complex drawings, plans and specifications. You will establish and enforce effective quality control procedures and manage software and systems.
We promote a team environment, so you'll learn from fellow engineers, environmental scientists and project managers. You'll maintain field and office equipment, too. And you'll develop leadership skills that build autonomy.
We should mention the workweek will exceed 40 hours, especially during construction season.
What it takesA bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering with 10 to 15 years of experience, especially in design, site supervision and construction of pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants, is preferred. A valid driver's license is required. You should speak and write well. And you should have strong analytical and organizational skills. You must be a team player.
